    Laptop Nation...

    POST A COMMENT

'was watching MTV's TRL and was struck by the realization by the reason why "pop music" is usually just god awful. On the program was Avril who could barely get out a word...but, damn, she looked pretty...the simple fact that beauty factors into the success of a music artist has taken the "art" out of music.

What is left in it's place: canned goods with no heart or redeeming value...so, my question, "isn't it time for art to slip through?" -- we can call the trend of the ugly people?

How can this happen, you ask. Factor in this recent trend of "The shrinkage of the (music) video...which will be obvious Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards, where grandiose, ambitious videos will seem like an exotic species facing extinction."

"The business is changing radically. It does feel smaller, cheaper," said one insider.

How about adding more real to that list...anyone? anyone?
