I'm a former tech writer / analyst and student of Film (working on a screenplay) -- this blog offers up a mix of my ramblings, debates, with some trend watching, or other various rants on things in the media

    Weather-ing the Storm...we're dead!

    POST A COMMENT

reading today: 'throwing money at the climate situation is stupid...'least if you buy this NYTimes bs:

Why "spend all that money to cut emissions and end up with more land flooded next century because people would be poorer."

-- so, basically, buy an umbrella and shut up 'bout it:

"preparing for the worst in future climate is expensive, which means less money for the most serious threats today — and later this century"

'just spend your money on more important things...'like designer shorts.

Dr. Lomborg: "calls Kyoto-style treaties to cut greenhouse-gas emissions a mistake because they cost too much and do too little too late. Even if the United States were to join in the Kyoto treaty, he notes, the cuts in emissions would merely postpone the projected rise in sea level by four years: from 2100 to 2104."

-- so, learn to enjoy hurricane's and invest in sunblock for the hotter sun...'nothing you can do 'bout it...um, but he did suggest this:

"To give urbanites a break from hotter summers, concentrate on reducing the urban-heat-island effect. If cities planted more greenery and painted roofs and streets white, he says, they could more than offset the impact of global warming." --

'paint it white...and buy a plant??...'geez, we are really fucked...'but, heeeey...ya'll can stand under my umbrella...ella, ella, ella:
