Thursday, April 10, 2008 Skin Color Matters POST A COMMENT Should it be a big deal if you're "stopped and questioned and frisked unnecessarily?" -- maybe not in the "big picture" of life. But, what if, as what has been reported by the NYDailyNews that "race is the reason many people are stopped" -- granted, "racial profiling" is not new. And after getting your face pushed down, you do get used to it. It's a way of life. I don't commit crimes, but I get that even today "the color of your skin" is still an issue. I do have many friends (mostly younger folks) that don't get the "big deal" or why this may cause resentment towards police. But then again, they aren't getting stopped or accused because they look a certain way.
