In Nina Garin's pop-culture think-back she points out -- aside from "the most exciting election, ever..." -- other things made a case for themselves in 2008:
"Vampires were the hands-down No. 1 sex symbol of 2008. Thanks to the making of “Twilight,” a movie based on Stephenie Meyers' young adult vampire series," Garin writes. "And for those looking for something sexier than the chaste Cullen clan, HBO delivered Bill Compton from its more mature “True Blood” series."
'Right there with ya -- love 'em or hate 'em -- Twilight has offered us new life blood to the Vampire genre -- which will only mean even better movies down the road.
HBO's more adult True Blood has definitely become much-watch T.V. in my house...
Still licking ya choppers for a fresh bite -- check out one of my fav book series -- Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties -- (3-part series). It plays up a romance angle, but what I like most is the authors true respect for the Vampire lore. It easily gets my vote for wouldn't it be great on the big screen treatment:
