Debate: Let's Make Marijuana Legal Already

I'm covering my hands...

over my ears...

and singing "La-lalalalaaalalalalaaaah..." -- it makes me feel all better...but, really now...how stupid is it to read about anyone today being charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a drug instrument...what year is it?

blah, blah, blah...

let me say upfront I'm not a user, but I gotta say I care less about all those out there that indulge...Who are they really hurting?

reading up on all those debates raging here in the US -- "Oh, we're one step closer to making marijuana legal..." -- I so don't care either way.

But, then I think about it. Geez, We could be taxing it...and putting that money into making our kids smart (sounds like a win win situation, no?) ...we'll it call a stupidity tax and move on. Next problem please.

And look at where it's coming from and how you would disarm places like Mexico or we could sit on our thumbs and continue ignoring the root cause of the problem you'd be helping the Mexico government regain some of it's power over the drug lords that getting all that potential tax dollars...I'm just saying.

Those of you out there (insert your favorite hand quotes here) -- expressing concerns that allowing one use of marijuana would lead to wider abuses...I say to you, it's too late. Hello -- NEWSFLASH: We're a medicated nation -- I was just reading how -- "Prescription drug abuse in West Virginia is a silent epidemic that is wreaking havoc on communities throughout the state,” reports one one of the dailies there.

So, what's really the difference between prescription drugs and weed? Go-on, and smoke 'em if you got 'em -- or swallow a few of those blue pills...'forgive me if I don't see the diff...
