Online Campaign 2 Save: "Legend of the Seeker"

save_Legend_of_the_Seeker.jpg

It worked out for Betty White (that online drive to get her to host Saturday Night Live) -- so, hoping we can drum up the same type of online support to save one of my fav show's Legend of the Seeker -- which was dropped off the fall schedule by the CW here (Tribune owned stations) recently.

So, now it's left in the wise hands of the execs over at ABC Television to really believe that people out there are still interested in great fantasy programing -- with a little push from some of it's loyal fans.

I'll put myself out there by saying I love Legend of the Seeker (and watch every episode like a schoolboy going out for ice cream) -- because it's a good looking show with great characters (and a sexy cast) --

and as with most things based off of books, it also has a rich multifaceted back story (in other words while it's not reinventing the wheel, it's also not all a carbon copy of other shows) -- you can tell somebody worked on creating the world they inhabit.

Please join the cause!

Temporarily Unfriended all of You

'Talked about that dream to someday live off the grid in some farm. It'd be a place where I can grow my own food and play ride the horsey (or something close to that). Which is the extreme opposite from my growing up here in the Big Apple.

'Should say up front that I accepted living in a hyper-connected world. Most days I text, Facebook, and Google my ass off. I played with enough of the newest techno toys to convince myself that I'm living in a modern world.

but

'There's gotta be a balance.

'Most days I'm super excited by the promise of technology. But as I age I start looking for more breaks away from it, a middle place. Sort of a mashup place of two worlds: technology and a more mindful path.

Mad Money Outrage goes mainstream?

jonstewartcramer01.jpg

'wasn't fun...or funny...but, it was damn compelling TV. I'm talking about Jon Stewart's cringe-worthy smack down of that Mad Money dude. It was all primal rage against...well...

I don't know who exactly...but, "hell somebodies gotta pay for this mess" -- yeah, lynch 'em all -- all those fancy Armani-suit-wearing...

yeah, those bitches gonna pay! (whoever they are) --

'Seem stomach-churningly-gory-kick-the-tables-over enough for ya? -- Must be -- when you have -- "celebrity Web site TMZ and TV shows like “Extra” and “Inside Edition” are expanding their coverage of starlets and Hollywood break-ups to include billion-dollar business scandals and the economic collapse," suggests the NY Times.

The gift of Love?

14opedlarge.jpg

Not the biggest fan of Valentines Day -- my gift this year to my own special someone is the cutest set of handheld Dumbells -- go-on whisper a chorus of "Bah! Humbug!" if I sound over-it-all. I'm not, really. Just over this idea that love could be bought one-day-a-year during the month of February.

Gifts are not given or owned, but rather shared said that German philosopher Heidegger -- I'm right there with ya Heidegger.

Isn't love more about -- "time shared" then the amount of money spent on a gift on February 14th?

Meet Up: N.J. Screenwriters Workshop Group?

meetup_NJ.jpg

I wrote about my two screenwriting workshops in 2008 here...

The goal in 2009 is to continue to write more (until it hurts) -- I'm going to be dusting off those Fiction chops -- (starting with trying to write more short stories, and hopefully -- fingers crossed -- working into that beast called the Novel). -- also tossing around the idea about starting or joining a screenwriting workshop in 2009 (as well as another class).

I've checked out a few meetup.com groups -- and went to a screenwriting course last week, and might consider starting a workshop near where I live -- here in New Jersey (maybe, we'll see...'thoughts anyone?) -- from watching this video it all looks so darn easy:
